ON POINT - May 2012
Honor Your Loved One This Mother's Day with a Rosebush Tribute
Honor your loved one this Mother’s Day with a gift that recognizes, love, commitment and trust.
The NTC Foundation offers you a special opportunity to dedicate a beautiful rosebush in the Sybil Stockdale Rose Garden at the NTC Command Center in the heart of the new cultural district at Liberty Station...a new destination that itself is blooming into a San Diego landmark.
A commemorative plaque with your personal message will be implanted adjacent to your designated rosebush. Your donation of $500 to the NTC Foundation will be used to help preserve the historic buildings at the former Naval Training Center and their new mission as a cultural center. Donations can be paid in installments.
To assure your tribute is placed in this special garden, contact Christine Deardorff at the NTC Foundation at 619-573-9307 or order online. Christine can also handle special requests for a specific rose color. Orders are welcome anytime throughout the year, but must be submitted by Tuesday, May 2 in order to be installed by Mother’s Day on May 13.
NTC Welcomes SCOUT @ Quarters D Home & Garden Retail Gallery
On May 1, NTC welcomes a new center for home design and aesthetics: SCOUT @ Quarters D. San Diego native Paul Scott Silvera brings his expertise in home design to the historic setting of the 1923 Officer’s home. SCOUT offers furniture, hardware, fixtures, Farrow & Ball Paint, Dash and Albert rugs, and home accessories with a specific aesthetic and sensibility that is authentically San Diego vintage, yet understands the needs of a modern household.
Located in the recently renovated Officers’ Quarters D at 2675 Rosecrans Street at Dewey Road in NTC Liberty Station, the new store and one-acre garden offer a wide variety of “jewelry for the home,” plus property preparation and color consulting services.
SCOUT is open Monday through Saturday from 10am to 6pm. There is a free small parking lot at the east end of the gardens at Quarters D, as well as free street parking on Dewey Road. For more information go to SCOUT @ Quarters D.
